Website Updates- Here are the new monthly updates! We do lore/content releases on the first of every month, and today is the day for new, shiny things! Take a gander at what we have: We have a neat little content update today that expands our universe a little bit more! First and foremost, however, the important one: Pairbonding and Marriage lore HAS CHANGED! Previously, pairbonding was a direct - but awkwardly worded - replacement for marriage. As it made little sense in its old form, we've revamped it to be much better explained, and allow for much more freedom! Traditional marriage is no longer an outlier, and pairbonding is no longer the replacement term for a married couple, and married couples no longer need to be pairbonded to marry. Use the terms husband and wife for any pairing freely! Upon this update, an actual true pairbond is made much more specific and special; much more akin to a soul-bond than anything. 'False' pairbonds and their terminology have been removed, and things like arranged marriages, betrothals, etc are now possible (though canonically have fallen out of favor in most cultures!). True pairbonds shouldn't be made without deep thought to the characters involved, as it's no longer a term that can be applied to any couple of lovers married or not. Here is the new information! Please let us know if you have any trouble understanding, see any coding issues or typos, or spot any instances across the site that conflict! Thank y'all - and keep an eye out for the monthly newsletter coming soon! :D Now onto more new things! We have four new library books for you to read; two lorebooks, a script/play, and a song! One lorebook is on the colors of emotion while the other is a study of mythology; the song is a fun one, and wait til you see the play! ;D Last but not least, the goblin subspecies, kobold has gotten a new polish and some new info! Plot Updates- THE FACTION OF HOPE IS IN CHAOS! As the balance of both Felnova and Kurai reach dire levels of instability, the leader of the Faction of Hope, disgusted with the lack of progress in her war, mysteriously left Albronel late one night, traveling west at a high rate of speed. Unbeknownst to her, she was followed by spies of Queen Verridith, who witnessed her not only send away her escort, but transform... her true identity revealed! Nina, the Priestess of the Faction of Hope, seen by all as the human prophet for the One God of the Order of Fraemyth is actually Niona, a Yorijian Dragon who is known to have very nearly taken over Yorije once before by seeing through a genocide of black pearl-eggs before her defeat. She revealed herself to the current Calypso, Xerenae, and attacked her in ambush - very nearly killing the young queen before being driven from the Spire, leaving death in her wake. Little did she know that the spies had continued to watch her - and now word sped along every pathway that Nina was, in fact, a DRAGON! Within hours, word spread across Vystriana. Within days, it will have spread throughout the allied Realms. Nina returns to her stronghold to find that many of her generals already know her secret, that word has reached there even before her return. Unrest grows to chaotic levels, and the Faction splinters even further underneath the strain. Her orders are refused, and those that once followed her religiously are throwing their swords at her feet as they renounce all ties to the traitor dragon, the Yorijian in human's shape. What will the Faction of Hope do? Few remain loyal to Nina - Niona - and fewer still will serve her directly. She is pushed to dangerous desperation, and begins to weave horrible power to unknown ends...
