The board is set in the current year of 2012 in a made up city that is set up in Alaska. Winter only last for two weeks before winter starts all over again. It is a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender community. Straights are also allowed as long as they are accepting of everyone's life style. Though there are a those who are not so accepting that may slip past.
Silent Haven is not so silent. It is a rather large city with plenty of museums, restaurants, businesses, places to shop, etc. Lets not forget some of the wild night life at the different bars, and clubs around town. It is a rather quite the busy city. It is a rather charming city, but even the most charming community has it's own secrets and lies. Even though it is an open, gay, lesbian, transgender and straight community there are some who are not accepting of the life style that these people lead.
