Hi, I'm Ranuu. I've been writing since I was a kid, though I've only been taking it seriously since 2005ish. My wife (Twygg) was already signed up here, and over her shoulder I grew pretty fond of this place. Like her, I started roleplaying in a play-by-post environment ten years ago on a Legend of Zelda-based roleplaying site. The place was magical and my angsty teenage escapist fantasies were fulfilled there. We stuck there as the administration strangled the site by closing off inactive areas and taking freedom away. Finally, when the community shrank to about 8 people, half of whom were incredibly toxic. Once they formed their cliques and we couldn't roleplay with anyone, we made our own site. We learned a lot about how communities work and progress during that time, and developed a lot of ideas on how to keep that from happening. Twygg's already put the site link up, but I think there's still a lot to learn and a lot of friends to make from RPGfix, so I'm excited to become a member as well :D
I've done some writing with the missus as well, do you ever have those moments where two writers have strictly different views on a scene or character?
I can't tell you how many times he's written up something semi-vague and I see it as a completely different outcome than the intended xD
Thanks for the welcomes! I'm happy to be here. To answer the question, yes, there have definitely been misunderstandings over character intentions. One that comes to mind was a long-standing character duo we played on the aforementioned site. I had my character go off and do something completely different from what she expected based off of a misinterpretation of one sentence of a post. Totally had no idea.
