We have cats now but I think I would prefer a dog. I love my cats but dogs are just always cuddly versus cats being... um picky. Hahaha. I had dogs growing up, though.

I'm both, but I'd choose dogs if it came down to it. At the moment I don't have one, but my roommate has two cats. Riley is a brat sometimes and Emery's so shy I've barely seen her, but they're both really sweet and I like them.

Cats--easier to take care of -- dont have to walk them in bad weather etc

Can't get into dogs at all. I like that cats are independent whereas dogs more or less just sit and wait for you to do things. Also walking multiple times a day, heck no.

  6. Dogs aren't allowed in my apartment, though my mom keeps one downstairs in her's. I prefer hamsters. :)

I do have one cat; she's gorgeous. But I prefer dogs (and horses) as companions. Cats are as said above independent, they don't really need us all that much. Whereas dogs, need us like babies, they have a sense of humor, are extremely funny to watch especially if they don't know you're watching. Have far better personalities than cats and are way smarter to. Yes they can be lazy sods, but unlike our feline friends they don't sleep 18 hours a day. I can play ball or frisbee with my dogs for hours literally, whereas there isn't much fun factor to a cat, other than a good cuddle.

Cats, most definitely. I blame my Mom for this. When she was pregnant with me, she let her cat Boom Boom (adopted on the 4th of July) lay across me and purr. She knew then and there that I'd either hate cats or love them with no in-between. However I can't say anything bad about dogs, since we've always had at least one since before I was born. I just prefer cats.

The cutest thing ever is seeing the friendship between a dog and a cat. Often my cat will curl up with by Doberman Suzi for an afternoon snooze ^_^

I grew up with both dogs and cats, but I'm a dog guy, no question.

Dogs. Almost everyone in my family had a dog as a kid, and I will never forget my old border collie x which I used to walk miles with in the summer. Walks with your dogs are great, if you go to the right places.

We have a rescue collie now, but he's getting on in years and is not as much of a walker as my previous dog was, but as my partner is not well, he fusses over him a lot and is quite protective of him.

Cats all the way. Don't have to give them baths or take them out on stormy, rainy, cold, or snowy days.

I've never owned a cat, but I've literally never been without a dog in the house - ever - and I'm in my early 30s. Though, I don't dislike cats or anything. In fact, I've had many, many roommates and partners over the years who prefer cats and have brought them into the house where I live with my dog(s). It's rarely caused any problems.
