If you post and no one answers, that doesn't mean that no one else is reading/listening. It's more like shouting into the void. Someone may hear what you say, echoing across the wind, and may not be able to respond so you can hear it.

 

That is a good answer.

And clearly I need to figure out how to get this place to auto-subscribe me to things because I never remember to check for replies if I don't get an email.

In my opinion, ya just talking to yourself. Your post is probably too irrelevant/out there for anyone else to reply to.

 

Sometimes its just a problem of the post getting lost in the mixture of other posts. Or the site just doesn't have enough members. Gotta get your character out there more. Plot them plots and then point out that you have an open thread ready!

 

It's only talking to yourself if you reply to it with no one else replying. Otherwise it's just talking. :)

Talking to yourself is when you post, and then post again, with no one posting anything in between.
