An old girl arrives

  1. After much debate and wrangling, my daughter whom I assume you all know, bent, twisted and generally dislocated my arm to bring me here. So, here I am. Hello to you all. My name is Maz, I'm possibly one of the oldest role players you're bound to find, having started my role play career way back in the send a fax days. Yes folks we did that back in the dark ages.

    I am 48, let's battle in seniority!

Welcome aboard <3. Are you Melanie's mother?

  4. Thank you both for the welcome. Fix looks like a happy little place doesn't it, somewhere we can exchange ideas I think.

Yes I am Elena, of which I am very proud to say. I'll be sixty five next February, the only other player I know of my vintage is on Mel's board, he is sixty two.

xD Hello Maz! That was a long time ago but I bet there are some other people about who started back then! I have met so many players and they have ranged from 16-60!

I can't say I miss having the fax machine taking up an entire desk all to itself personally!

Welcome to the 'fix Maz it's honestly an absolute delight to have you. Welcome aboard!

  9. I am quite certain there are. As Mel stated we do have another on her forum at sixty two, there were several others as well on a Wheel of Time forum we were both members of some years ago.

That would have been Ainty, she was seventy one I believe when we were there in 2010. I think she is still there but no longer a part of the RP community.

Quite surprisingly businesses are still using them today and the damned things are monsters compared with those early machines. Printer, copier, fax all in one. The machine in my office is as big as a mini fridge.

Thank you all for the kind welcomes.

    Little n little y BIG F$%^%$g Q!

Not sure why but Dennis Leary just popped into my head. Maybe it has to do with this site. Do I say welcome to RPGFix or RPGfix? That is the question isn't it, a little f or a BIG F$%^%$g F? That question has been slowly driving me insane since I joined here.

Anyhow welcome to here, The Mother. And keep your eye out for rogues and dragons.

  11. I'm not quite sure what to make of that Lure, though at least I can admit your reply made me laugh. For that I thank you, especially at this hour of the morning.

The 'Rogue' I can handle, dragons, now they're another entity that can be either good or bad depending on the colour.

A greeting such as "Welcome to (insert site name here)" I find boring, so I try to make mine a little off the wall, when I have the time, :)

For some reason that still eludes me, Dennis Leary's comic routine about the spelling of nyQuil just came to me and I said to myself: "self, why not?"

  13. Yes the typical welcome message does fall a little flat doesn't it. Especially if and when you might be reading it a dozen times or so; ingenuity in replies always tickles my funny bone.

Heya! It's super cool that you and your daughter can talk RPGs together -- my mom is convinced that RPGs and Fanfiction are the same thing, haha.

  17. Thank you, it is for us down under, we don't get to interact all that much with other like minded folks here. So meeting people from around the world more than makes up for it.

I am, for the short spurts of time I manage to log in here.
